The Council for Counteracting Drug Addiction operates at the Prime Minister's office and functions as a coordination and advisory body for counteracting drug addiction. The legal basis for The Council for Counteracting Drug Addiction are articles 12 to 18 of the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Polish Journal of Laws: Dz.U. No. 179, item 1485 as further amended).  The members of the Council are appointed by the Prime Minister.
