History of the National Bureau for Drug Prevention

The National Bureau for Drug Prevention was established in response to the worrying trends on the Polish drug scene that were taking place at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. Along with the political, social and economic transformation a host of unfavourable social phenomena were gathering momentum. One of them was increasing prevalence of drug use, particularly among young people. more>>>

Strategic aims and tasks of the National Bureau for Drug Prevention

The aim of the National Bureau for Drug Prevention is:

• reducing the use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances
• implementing and coordinating the national strategy of counteracting drug addiction more>>>

Organizational structure of the National Bureau for Drug Prevention

The National Bureau for Drug Prevention is headed by Director appointed by the Minister of Health.

The National Bureau for Drug Prevention comprises the following departments:

• Department of Prevention and Rehabilitation Tasks,
• Department of Public Education,
• Autonomous Post on Early Warning System on Drugs,
• National Focal Point,
• Group of Autonomous Posts on Training,
• Department of Control over Implementation of Commissioned Tasks,
• Finance and Accounting Department,
• Autonomous Post on Financial Control of Commissioned Tasks
